What are the risks and precautions of disassembling and transporting high-end PC parts by air travel?


I am planning to visit my father who lives in a different continent for three months. I have a custom-built PC worth $2500 that I do not want to leave behind with my mother, who is facing financial difficulties due to the pandemic. I want to take out the most valuable components, such as the GPU, and pack them in their original boxes. I will leave the case, the fans, and the motherboard at home. How can I safely and legally carry these parts on an airplane? What are the potential hazards or damages that could affect them?
